The Russian Billionaire filed a lawsuit against the European Union Council following the seizure of his assets in March, following the recent attack by Russia on Ukraine. The Associated Press confirmed the news on its website but there has been no response from the EU.

Abramovich was forced to sell one of his assets Chelsea Football Club after the UK government decided to freeze the assets of the Premier League club. The club was sold for 2.5 billion pounds ($3.2 billion), the highest price ever paid for a sports team, and was completed Monday by a consortium fronted by Los Angeles Dodgers' part-owner Todd Boehly. It marked the end of the trophy-filled, 19-year tenure of Abramovich.
